Choose which destinations a shipping option serves
Make a shipping option active, set its priority and destination rules, and use real pickup locations.
Updated
A shipping option belongs to a region. The region carries the currency and price basis; the option carries the price, the threshold and the destination rules.
- Active
- Inactive options are not listed and cannot be quoted.
- Priority
- Higher priority wins. Two options at the same highest priority are a configuration error, not a coin flip.
- Countries / states
- When set, the destination must match. A missing state never matches a state-restricted option.
- Postcode prefixes / ranges
- Matched against the destination postcode; ranges are inclusive at both ends.
- Weight bands
- Accepted only when every line has a weight fact. Until SKU weights are configured, weight-based options are refused rather than guessed.
The current shipping settings screen edits the region, the option price and the free-shipping threshold. Activation, priority and destination rules are not exposed there yet: they are set on the option record together with the merchant setup. Until the screen exposes them, contact Vendzi support to change destination rules, and do not enable an option you have not verified for its destinations.
- Confirm the option belongs to the region whose currency and tax basis you want to charge.
- Confirm the price and the free-shipping threshold on the shipping settings screen.
- For pickup, use an active business location; archived locations cannot be selected at checkout.
- Ask support to set the option active, its priority and its country/state/postcode rules, then place a test quote for a served and an unserved destination.
The free-shipping threshold is applied once, to the goods total after item discounts in the region display basis. A free-shipping coupon removes the shipping charge only: goods and tax are not discounted by it.
